Music Matters

Why Music and the Arts me
Music and art saved my life - literally. As a kid growing up in HUD housing, I often turned to music and art to escape the challenges of everyday life without a strong family foundation. We had limited resources, so my school choir was a much needed outlet. Thanks to music, I have been able to visit places I never would have seen otherwise and have met people who have changed my life in profound ways; these are experiences I never would have had without music.
This is why I believe very strongly in music as a vehicle for change (which prompted me to found a social enterprise of the same name and an arts non-profit, The Artsboretum.) I constantly advocate for music and arts education.
Think about what your life would be like without music or the arts. Unimaginable, isn't it?
What is your contribution to the world? What are your special gifts or talents? Now think of how you can join me on a journey to make this world a better place.
