I'm mostly on my phone these days, so that is why I'm just posting links to recipes as I come across them (in case you are curious...)

Anna Benedetto's Lasagne

I love Tony Bennett, always have, always will. He just shared his mom's lasagne recipe. (Well, whoever handles his social media did...)

Canolli Cream Puffs

Pastry Puffs:
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp. white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (reduce to 1/4 tsp.if using salted butter)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
Cannoli Filling:
  • 1 1/4 cup whole milk ricotta (I wouldn’t try the low-fat here)
  • 1 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup icing (confectioners) sugar (or a bit more or less, depending on how sweet you like it)
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • (Variations: replace cinnamon with grated orange or lemon zest or sprinkle chopped chocolate or mini chocolate chips over filling. A drizzle of melted chocolate over the top is also a nice variation)

Garnish:
  • Icing (confectioners) sugar

"I Stay In My Lane"

Editor's Note :  I posted two different videos, and each was pulled shortly after posting.

In case you missed it, this is pretty funny. Gary Radnich of KRON 4 news recently gave the anchor a hard time because she read a couple of sports related news stories.

I understand his point of view. Sports are his thing - now all of  sudden, as sports stories enter the mainstream, more people are going to be talking about what is happening in sports. It's a bit like a singer suddenly entering the world of politics.

Some people who have been in politics for a long time are going to feel as if they are entitled to this soon to be vacant Supervisor position and they are going to try to activate all their networks to squash me like a bug.

You know, it's a bit like that time when my neighbors said they didn't want that stupid four block million dollar sidewalk, because our community plan said " we do not encourage sidewalks, curbs and gutters in the planning area," and it didn't make sense to build a sidewalk for parents who just wanted to drop their kids off at school.

The people who wanted that sidewalk project to go forward activated all their networks, and they squashed our attempts to create a community built path.

Think about it.
